How come it is so easy to manifest what you don’t want and not what you want ?  Sometimes it feels like whatever we don’t want shows up in a heartbeat but what we do want stays away forever.  How can that be?  And how come all of those bad things seem to happen at almost the same time?  I mean, it’s not like we work hard on getting that cold, having the car break down or spilling red wine on the carpet, those things just happen!  Believe it or not, we mostly attract it ourselves.

We are good at it too

If you think about it we really are the greatest manifestors imaginable when we get those negative outcomes, because we get almost exactly what we think of.  Our thoughts probably go something like this: I just can’t catch a cold right now, I don’t have time for that! Or: I really, really, really can’t afford the car to break down now, I’ll be ruined.  Or why not: Red wine would be horrible on my new carpet, I hope no one will spill.  And don’t you just know it, everything happens and a few more things too.

What are we focusing on?

This is, of course, because we allow ourselves to focus on the negative and not the positive.  Thinking many negative thoughts is just like inviting bad things and asking them to camp out in your body and your home. Negative thoughts don’t just cause you to have misfortune; they can also hurt your health! You can easily test that they have an effect on how you feel physically by thinking of something you worry about; you will immediately feel some discomfort somewhere in your body, will you not?

Focus on the good stuff

So when you have thoughts and feelings that actually affect you that much, of course you will manifest things!  But the good thing about it is that you can turn it around and start manifesting other outcomes, better ones.  It is not as easy as it sounds, but it is very possible to manifest the good things in life instead of the bad ones.  It is a matter of making positive thinking a habit.

Have some fun with it

One way to get the ball rolling is to start your day by setting the intent to have the best day possible.  If you start your day with positivity it is a lot easier to have a great day because you don’t take things too seriously when you are in a good mood.  It’s just like when you stub your toe jumping out of bed and the rest of the day is ruined, but the other way around. This time you find a pot of gold when you jump out of bed and the rest of the day is perfect.

Meditate for goodness’ sake!

If you can find the time (and it is really worth it!) try to meditate every morning, at least for a few minutes.  It helps you get still and focused and it works wonders with your feelings and your ability to overcome problems.  You will also find that meditation and deliberately thinking positive thoughts will help you to start manifesting what you want, instead of what you don’t want.

  1. Great article Kristina, since I grew older I have been more clever to focus on the positive things in life, and you are right, the negative aspects of life just seem to vanish. Of course sometimes bad things happens, but some way it’s easier to deal with it when your mind is full of positive thoughts, it gives you a better leverage.

  2. You are absolutely right! It does seem easier to imagine the worst and I often hear people say they are just “preparing” for the worst. That has always made me sad because why not “prepare” for the best? I will make an effort to begin my day by imagining what a wonderful day I am going to have. Thank you for this post. I needed the reminder!

  3. Isn’t it the truth. We can attract something negative in an instant. I remember one day when I was wearing leather soled boots on a rainy day. As I was getting out of the car I thought, “I’d better be careful, I don’t want to slip.”

    Well, I was on the ground before I completed that thought, because the picture was in my mind.

    Guard your thoughts. Hold on to the positive and block out the negative.

When you think I am broke, the answer is YES, and when you think I feel not well, the answer is YES. Wouldn’t you change your thoughts? In perhaps, I feel great, with a YES answer? And I am rich, YES! Loes

  6. Great article, I so know what you are saying. Seems when something bad manifests some other ones you weren’t expecting show up as well.
    Stay positive and brush it off, after all there are good things manifesting all around as well.
