Sometimes life is hard, and you don’t know what to do to change things. This is when you need to be good to yourself and cut yourself some slack! You can only do so much and that is good enough. Don’t let anyone tell you, you ‘should’ do more than you can, because there is no love in that. Should is a dirty word that we don’t need, because it always contains guilt, and when things are rough; guilt is the last thing we need!
When times are hard
Lately things have been very demanding in my life so this post is just as much for me as it is for anyone else. Some friends have passed away very unexpectedly, and one friend is laying on her deathbed. I do all I can to be there for her family and to help as much as possible and sometimes I beat myself up for not being able to do enough, but then I have to take a step back and give myself some credit. If I keep doing that I will be of no help to anyone, and I’m doing the best I can!
Giving, loving, supporting, protecting is something we want to do for others, but we need to do it in equal measures for ourselves. If we just give and give and give, there is nothing left for ourselves and then we can’t give anymore. We just can’t give what we don’t have!
Keeping friends close
My friends and family are my support system, and without their help, love and support I would have crumbled by now. A big hug, or a shoulder to cry on is worth more than anything, when times are bad. People who care and just listen are more valuable than all the gold in the world. My wish for everyone is to have friends like mine. I don’t have many really close friends, but those I have I treasure and love to the moon and back, and my family is always there for me too.
Back to nature
Nature is another way to find energy and peace for me, and I believe that we all need to connect with nature, because we are all a part of it. Modern life in many ways separates us from nature and that might be a part of why so many people feel disconnected and have a hard time grounding themselves. Living in urban areas in many ways makes it hard to connect with nature, but we all need to try, or we will miss out on so much wonderful energy. We all really need that energy to fill ourselves up so we can be of service, because we are here to serve and help, others and ourselves. Mother earth made this system and we have messed it up, but we will get back there if we all work on it, the best we can.
